Caribou Coffee - Detroit Lakes

Great place for a quick cup of coffee, either you go through the drive thru or you come inside. They have multiple options for coffee drinkers and non. Service is quick and they have multiple seats inside and out to enjoy you fresh cup of joe.

Usually a pleasant stop at this location.. except this last visit, even showing several staff their promotion in the App said in store... they couldn't do it or make it work. Then they charged me for what was free. There was no promotional signs anywhere for the deals caribou were doing.

I had to repeat my order 3 times to 2 different people. I paid for an extra shot and didn’t get it. I asked for no whip and got it. My drink tasted like watered down coffee with a splash of dark chocolate.

Caribou has become a big chain however their quality is the same as I remember it 15 years ago. It's really quite remarkable how good their hot chocolate and coffee are versus Starbucks.

My daughter did a mobile order but couldn’t wait for her order since she had to get to work, so I went in and waited for it. As staff put drinks up they call out the persons name or the drink type. I assumed mobile orders get their name called so I’m just standing there waiting to hear her name. 38 minutes after she ordered, someone walks up and turns a cup that has my daughters name on it, the cup that I heard them call out the drink type but did not say a name. I was not impressed that I had to stand there about 10 extra minutes because staff didn’t call out the name. My daughter does a mobile order 1-3 times per week and said that staff is very inconsistent about how the call out orders.
