I have lived in the Oak Park area since 1990 and been going to the country club throughout that time. It is sort of like my cheers. I can't wait for it to up again soon. I would think everyone would just want to stop complaining about what they think happened when they do not know the whole story. Us who live in this neighborhood should want a business to succeed and have a place where we can go and all enjoy each other's company. We have enough businesses around here closing we don't need any more negativity or getting a bad rap for our area. I want to have somewhere fun I can go drink Blue Moon and just enjoy myself. Hopefully that will be happening again at the Highland Park Country Club very soon
Great place to grab a beer and hang out with the local folks who live in the area. Mostly an older crowd which is nice. Former Packers bar and still shows it on the inside. Steak night fridays are amazing.
Seriously cool low key spot to get a bite amd some drinks, staff is great along with the local crowd! Would highly recommend stopping in for breakfast
Many would consider this a dive bar. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Aesthetically, it doesn 't live up to the 'Country Club ' image that its name might suggest. But who the cares. You want really good food? Patty melt is by far the best in town and the fried chicken is awesome. Of course it helps if the bartender is friendly. If her name happens to be Tina, you won 't have any complaints. Great cook, friendly, easy to talk to. One of those people who make you feel welcome. And the prices don 't bankrupt you. Definitely worth a visit.
