What was meant to be a very relaxing 2 day break with a visit to the Christmas market and farm shop resulted into us cutting the break short after one night and returning home. We felt completely in the way as bar area had recent flood damage and a new carpet was in the process of being fitted during our stay. Upon arriving back from Chatsworth house for the day and looking forward to a relaxing drink in the bar area we were told to come back in 30 minutes and see if certain areas had dried. So unprofessional Why open? Why wasn’t this information given upon booking? Why give your guests this sort of restricted experience? I got away from my business after nearly being flooded for a few days with my wife to relax. Not worry about another businesses carpet being fitted in the bar area. Really poor customer experience won’t be returning here.

Wonderful overnight stay with exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms: Beds and pillows really comfy . Nearby activities: Chatsworth House... amazing Walkability: About an hour walk to Chatsworth House across fields along the river.... very muddy at the moment so ve prepared. Helpful note to walkers ....be warned.... its virtually impossible to get a taxi back from Chatsworth House and not safe to walk back in the dark! Pre book a return journey with the local taxi if you need picking up Food drinks: great food

My wife and I made a reservation for my birthday at this restaurant. We were seated at the last table in the room, which was quite cold. When we requested to move to a warmer part of the restaurant, we were told that all tables were full. We were eventually able to move to the next table, but the ambiance did not improve much. The food arrived cold, and we had to send it back. It came back warm, but not hot. Despite this, we decided to have dessert. My wife's ice cream was luckily cold, but my sticky toffee pudding was dry and the custard was cold. Despite my discomfort, I accepted it. We were offered a 10% discount for the inconvenience. It is worth noting that all of the wait staff appeared to be under 20 years old. Overall, it was not a very good experience.

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. The service and location both received a rating of 5 out of 5, and the hotel stands out for its peaceful atmosphere.
