Bidrage med feedbackAfter a 6-mile hike in heavy rain, we sought shelter at Homesford Tea Rooms, a place we had never been to before. It turned out to be a delightful experience, feeling like stepping back in time to a grandmother's kitchen. The vintage music, warm welcome, and treats for our wet dogs made us feel right at home. The freshly baked cakes and crumbles kept coming, served by the young and friendly staff. Our cream tea for two was exceptional, with fruit scones, jam, cream, and fresh strawberries on a platter. The teapot was filled to the brim, much to my partner's delight. We can't wait to return on our next walk, as this place is truly special and hard to pass by. It has quickly become one of our top favorites in the area. The food from other orders looked fabulous, with all tables full even in the rain. Parking is plentiful, allowing for a stroll along the beautiful Cromford canal. The homemade treats are perfect for a picnic. The welcoming owner made everyone feel at home, creating a cozy atmosphere where one could easily spend the whole day. Although we had a long walk ahead of us, we left with a promise to return. I've been recommending Homesford Tea Rooms to everyone since our visit, as they have truly captured the essence of a charming tea room. Thank you to everyone there for a wonderful experience.
Homesford Cottage Tearoom is located on the A6, approximately three miles from Cromford in Derbyshire, where I have been a resident for more than two decades. This cozy and charming cafe has a quirky feel to it, with 60s music playing in the background and a collection of photos and knick-knacks adorning the rustic barn-like space. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The scones, in particular, are a standout. The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying a meal on a warm day, and there is ample parking available. Despite being situated on a busy road, the noise level is never overpowering. Its location is also a plus, as it is a convenient stop for those heading into the Derbyshire Dales/Peak District or for bikers on the Matlock Bath Sunday ride. Be sure to visit before the crowds arrive, approximately a mile past the zig-zag crossing of the River Derwent near Whatstandwell.
We visited today by chance as was in search of a drink for our trip back home to the midlands. The gent who served us was fantastic- made us feel so welcomed! For a cake, milkshake and can of pop it came to around £9 which we thought was great. Partner thoroughly enjoyed milkshake. A lovely little spot with very friendly staff. Thank you!
Yesterday, I had my first café breakfast of 2023. Instead of my usual bacon sandwich, I opted for a full breakfast. It was delicious, although it was missing the tomato I requested and had extra mushrooms instead. The food at this café is always top-notch. The staff were as friendly and pleasant as always.
Driven past the tearooms many times but never called in..... Until today! My sister and I decided to try it and we weren't disappointed. The food was really tasty, and the puddings were delicious! I had the pear and raspberry crumble with custard and the portion was huge! My sister tried the passionfruit and pineapple cheesecake and she loved it. Lovely coffee too! Friendly staff, good service... A little gem of a place! Definitely will be back!
