Bidrage med feedbackUpon entering the restaurant, we were immediately hit with a strong odor of sewage or bathroom mishaps. There were apple cinnamon candles scattered around, but they did little to mask the unpleasant smell. It was unusual to see scented candles in a dining establishment. With no host or hostess present, the two servers on duty seemed overwhelmed as they tried to manage the influx of customers. Our waiter took longer than usual to finally come over to our table, understandable given the busy atmosphere with only two waitstaff working. When our brunch arrived, the French toast orders were undercooked and runny in the middle. The kitchen had to remake them and comp our meals, but by the time the food was brought out, the rest of our party had finished eating. The sausages were excessively greasy when cut into, and my poached eggs were served fried instead. Disappointed and surprised by this visit, as we had enjoyed previous experiences at this restaurant.
Round table was nice. Food and cocktails were good. Service was strange- the server kept only going to one person at our table and the rest of us would have to shout our orders across the table to him.
We enjoyed dining at this restaurant and the food was very good, prepared and served professionally. However, the only complaint I would have is that the menu is very limited and I would not be able to return often, as there is not enough to choose from. With that said, what they do have on the menu is really good.
We enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere at Charcoal Bistro. I loved the shrimp and grits i would highly recommend this restaurant.
Yet again, this neighborhood gem did not disappoint. We enjoyed the biscuits with pimento cheese spread as an appetizer with our drinks as Amy did her magic in the kitchen with our Shrimp and Grits and Pork Loin Polenta w/green chili. All was truly cooked to perfection and just amazing. Amaretto bread pudding to finish. Thank you folks....see you very soon.
