Kind of unique has a coffee shop menu and a restaurant menu. The food service were great. Our waitress Teri guided us through the choices.Food: 4/5
I'd heard a lot about this place and it was thoroughly underwhelming. The carpet was old and gross, the service wasn't that good, and the food was just okay. Not what I'd expect for $50 a person (and we didn't have drinks just coffee and water).Parking: Parking was decent, though you may end up further away from the restaurant (they have an auxiliary lot for when they're especially busy)
Meh. Food was ok, stopped to get an omelette. Service was decent, she was nice...had the Flo working the old school diner vibes which is ok. Nothing was bad, but also nothing would every make me want to make a special trip there.Unfortunately I was in earshot of the kitchen and could hear this crass angry woman complain about literally everything. F bombs flowing and just an ugly demeanor. It was consistent throughout my breakfast. I get it, it 's hard to hire right now but there is no excuse for that. Also, at one point one of the servers knocked a mostly finished roll of those cheap brown paper towels rolls (you know, the ones that don 't clean up anything that schools buy? off of the counter and it hit the ground and rolled against the bar on the outside. The lady from the hostess stand (who I assume is an owner walked by and picked up it and put it back onto the counter. Yum. Yup, floor to eating surface. On my exit I nodded and smiled at the woman (who I still assume is an owner at the hostess stand. No acknowledgement, no have a good day, no nothing.Just overall not a wow. Ok food. Nice server. But its clear that nobody GAF at this place.
We had a very nice Mother's Day dinner at Lamplighter. We go out for dinner on three holidays a year and have for years. This was one of the very best we have found. There was a great variety of food...several cooked veggies, fresh fruit and veggies, two types of potatoes, pasta, baked fish, chicken and gravy, a carving station with ham, turkey, lamb, and prime rib, chilled shrimp, several types of salads including really good broccoli salad, a great cheese board with a bunch of different cheeses on the block, and a great dessert table including the Lamplighter's wonderful pies. I'm sure I'm missing a few things, but you get the idea. There was enough variety for everyone to find something they loved. In addition, the staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Lamplighter Restaurant, and we will definitely be visiting again.
