Jennie's Cafe - Delano

Eating is good, but the serviettes we had to wait long and a long time for refilling as if they were not there

I tried this place for the first time and think it'll be my last. the service is really sucked! they sit themselves, so we managed to say for about 10 minutes before someone realizes that we were there. a server that took her order on the table above us has seen us, but never said a word to us, they would think she would have said that we will be right with them. long story short the server didn't look happy as if they were forced to be there, not friendly. finally our order was taken over. eating was okay, salsa was a little sharp, chips tasted nice and fresh. When they go ready to go to ask for everything they need in register bc, they do not come to check on them.

Just not impressed, I unfortunately didn't have the same outstanding experience some fellow yelpers seemed to have had. This week has been a lot of work in Delano and I found myself out there yesterday so I stopped by Jenny's for a first visit. It was moderately busy which is normal at noon during the lunch rush so I had no issues with that, we were seated pretty quickly. I went for a 3 enchilada combination plate as I do love enchiladas. The service was pretty slow, even for being moderately busy. Drinks got refilled once near the end of the meal but that was mostly all we got from the waitress. The food itself wasn't great, I thought the enchiladas were bland and lacking freshness, the rice was a tad overcooked and the beans were also pretty bland. The chips tasted a little old to me, the salsa was pretty good and I did enjoy that. I was hoping for a stellar meal given some of the reviews but I just found the overall experience to be bland and slightly overcooked (possibly old. I don't think I'd stop by again but it was nice to at least give a new place a try, thumbs up on the salsa.

Best Chile Verde! Camerones a la Diabla are extremely hot...but soooo good! Very fast and friendly staff.Still the best in Delano...only gripe... No beer on.the menu!New hours too, due to unavailability of people who want to work!7am-2pm...yes that's right no dinner hours.
