The Spud - Deer Lake

I was pleased to hear that The Spud (new ownership) had reopened and decided to give it a try. However, we were both disappointed with our meals. The prices were quite high, with a small side dish costing $2.00 and being no larger than a dipping sauce container. Additionally, there was an extra charge of $2.00 for dressing and toppings on the fries, but the amount provided was minimal and lacked flavor. My husband's potatoes resembled hash browns rather than traditional fries. Overall, I found the food to be of poor quality, the portions to be small, and the additional charges for toppings to be excessive given the low quality. We left feeling disappointed with our experience at The Spud and are unlikely to return in the future.

If you want a good feed, stop at the Spud in Deer Lake. You won't be sorry. Home fries are to die for and plenty of them.

You have to check out for the snack bar! Staff is awsome and the food cant be more tasty! The poutine is even better than any other in Montreal. I came late and let me in anyway. I would come back to Deer Lake juste...because of this place!

The snack bar was average, but the service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and met our expectations. We will definitely return!

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this restaurant while visiting Deer Lake. The local favorite. Great loose meat burger and perfect onion rings and fries. I would plan on take out because the restaurant is very small and only seats 6. Enjoy!
