Pesos Mexican Cantina - Decatur

The food was not authentic, it was very Americanized. The drinks were eh. Too expensive for this type of service and the fake Mexican dishes. My boyfriend said, he is disappointed in the customer service and communication. Only two servers not good. Need more staff to get more tips from us customers. Too much for two people to handle by themselves. The drink for two stars other that meh. Oh by the way they don?t have apple pay or Google pay! They need to step it up.

Somebody is lying about the reviews. This is DEFINITELY not Mexican food. Maybe Mexican inspired. And it?s not even great. I should?ve known when I saw American food choices (burgers, wings, etc). The waitresses were nice but servers really didn?t communicate with each other so it took about 10 mins for someone to get our drink orders? which was when we went ahead and ordered our food. The food was basically awful. My friends and I came starving and she started with queso chips. Queso cheese dip was practically a processed cheese dip, not even the good fair or movie theater type of cheese, but the pale yellow white color type with a weird aftertaste and would it hardened quick. We waited at minimum 45 mins for our food. I was patient because it was busy but I?m also pregnant and needed food immediately. I didn?t want to use it as an excuse so I said nothing. Luckily I had the chips to hold me over which I thought the complimentary chips and salsa were fantastic at least. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was supposed to be marinated shrimp with pico de gallo and avocado. It?s just a little overly boiled shrimp in a super thick sauce and definitely not marinated. Sauce is supposed to be a little more liquid like not thick like ketchup. I added our chips? salsa to it to taste better and and sauce consistency was better so it wasn?t so bad. There were no crackers to go with it and there no Mexican hot sauce whatsoever there. Almost all Mexican spots have at least Tapatío or Valentina sauce and crackers to go with their shrimp cocktail. I asked for additional limes and never received them. My food was almost bland but I wasn?t about to waste $12+ so I ate it all. I finally saw yelp reviews today that closely matched my experience and unfortunately my friend saw only the good reviews on google. She was beyond angry. Her chimichanga was topped with the gross cheese. Her husband barely ate his food and the two of them did not enjoy the experience. I sucked it up. My Arnold Palmer was at least good. I just didn?t get my straw back after my refill. I ended up using an unused fork to take the ice out to drink. 1 star for the drink, chips salsa, and nice super busy server that we barely saw. Definitely never coming back.

At this point I'm nearly done with my food. I could careless about the price at this point. Definitely on point, so good!! I'll be returning for sure. They hit the nail on the head!! Our waitress will be also getting a nice tip. Thank you For good food and good service! BtW it was not expensive at all, my food for myself was $14 and it filled me up! I left $20tip total $34 :

I had a great time here for karaoke on Saturday night. Staff was super friendly, and it was a great fun crowd. Food and drink are great, with excellent prices. I'll be back.

First, I would like to say I called to find out if they do taco Tuesday specials. I was told no but they have $2 tacos from 5pm 8pm. When I got there I ordered 2 tacos and didn?t notice that I was paying almost twice what I assumed they would be. I asked the young lady that assist me about what I was told over the phone and she was not aware of that special and neither was the staff. I literally called 20 minutes before I got there, I felt like I got the old bait and switch. Putting that aside I did enjoy the tacos and appreciated finding out it was an African American establishment. It was a warm and inviting environment and I felt like it would be a place that I could frequent and enjoy. It was a mature crowd and the staff could not have been more pleasant. I would have given it 5 stars but, I did feel I was misinformed over the phone. However, I do plan on going back.
