Krekel's West - Decatur

Nothing better than a Double cheeseburger and an extra thick shake.

The cashier here lied to me! She said the best thing about Decatur was the university. This isn’t true! She left off the double cheeseburger here at Kreckel’s! Come in and expect a clean restaurant with friendly staff, delicious burgers and chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh! I could tell my burger was cooked on a very hot grill because it had a delicious little bit of char on it and great peppery taste. I thought the double had a good meat to bun ratio. The fries were crispy out and soft inside. I hope I get a chance to come back and try more around the menu!

Krekels has been part of our family for as long as I can remember. Even though we've moved to the St. Louis area, when we come back for a visit it's always Krekels hands down!! Just wishing they spread the love down south cause I know without a doubt they'd be a smash hit right out of the park (hint-hint-Shiloh, Illinois area PLEASE!!!!!!

The food is amazing. Staff is always very nice and helpful. Definitely the best Krekles in town. I would expect nothing less from the original!

Still the best burger in Central Illinois IMO. Also the lemon ice cream absolutely cannot be beat. Wash it all down with an old fashioned style cherry coke and you have a winning combination. Only reason I did not give five stars was because the service could use a bit of attention to detail. Wait staff seems a bit disorganized at times. I still would highly recommend this place to any family looking for a great meal at an affordable price!
