Diamond's Family Restaurant - Decatur

What a great little place for breakfast for me. Traveling for work and stopped. Great service (thanks Jessie and you partner) enjoyed my omelet and toast. They even filled my travel mug. See you guys next time.

Truly a hidden gem in Decatur! Our hotel receptionist recommended Diamonds when we asked about local eateries. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but we were promptly seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress, Mariah, was very friendly and personable, and made us feel welcome. We decided on the Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo with a chocolate shake, the Ribeye steak, and fried Walleye filets. Each dinner came with a salad which was brought to us within a few minutes. Our dinners came right on time, as soon as we had finished our salads. The shrimp dish was creamy, hot and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was tender and not overcooked, the Alfredo sauce was tasty. The chocolate milkshake was fabulous! Not too thick, but not runny either. The ribeye steak was cooked to order, and had good flavor and texture. The walleye filets were quite good, and included one extra! The side vegetable was cooked carrots, and they were done perfectly. The dessert selection display was incredible. Pies, cakes, etc. We opted for the chocolate cream pie, ordering two pieces between the three of us, not realizing how big they would be! We really would have only needed one! It was superb! An overall excellent experience, and would highly recommend. We will return for sure next time we visit Decatur!

Diamonds is a great place to eat, they have great food and delicious homemade desserts. The service is amazing. The servers and owners always strive to give the best service. They are ALL very friendly and treat you like family. This is a great place to drop in and grab a quick bite, or to meet family or friends to eat and catch up. Diamonds has a great menu with a wide variety of choices, and always have a good selection of daily specials. Diamonds is the best choice for the whole family, young and old. You have to check them out

Their primary customers seem to be the elderly, but I think that's great because it's fairly quiet dining. The food comes out in really good portion sizes and in a fair amount of time. The wait staff is happy and attentive. Old people aside, I'd totally go back. They have awesome biscuits and gravy!

Was in the area and looked around on Google maps to find a place to grab lunch with my boyfriend. Decided to try this place and was so pleased! The area was clean and neat looking. The waitresses we're friendly and prompt. The food was delicious! I had the chicken tenders and my boyfriend had the gyro platter. My chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The batter was a wonderful golden brown. The fries were the same crispy and golden. My boyfriend said his gyro was good and very stuffed. The price on lunch was great too. Overall I'm really glad we stopped in and even though I live about 45 minutes away, I might just make the trip here again for that chicken. Amazing!
