Flaska Vendéglő - Debrecen

Beautiful restaurant in the centre of Debrecen serves traditional Hungarian cuisine with a bit of a local twist. It is located in a cellar that gives it a beautiful mood. While the staff had problems with English (and, I take other languages except Hungarian) the menu has translated everything into English, so it is very easy to bypass the language barrier and order your meal. Service was tops, quite fast, although they seemed to take many orders simultaneously. Place seems to be very popular with locals so you want to make a reservation for the evenings or for larger groups. The food is excellent, I had many Hungarian dishes in different places and the taste of the bean soup still surprises me. Good beer on tap and a diversified beverage selection.

Really nice local cuisine for a good price. I order the pork chops and the part was huge!

Served in a group of 5 and we finished ordering a quite diverse menu: Gulas (bef), beef stew potatoes, chicken pasta and fish chips (photos below). The food was sensational!! No complaints. Cooked for perfection, the food was warm and fresh and the beer was cold!! Service was prompt, they speak English and treat you with respect. Explain the menu and specialties with ease. You are ready to change everything in the menu. Bathrooms were cleaned with fresh soap and toilet paper 10/10 would visit again

Loved it! Very good hungarian food in nice atmosphere. We loved the veal paprikas and pork fried in potato dough! The prices were friendly as well.
