We tried to visit Martians cafe bar, but it appeared to be closed with a large for lease sign outside. The phone number is disconnected and the website is showing a 404 error.
From the friendly, characterful service to the authentic local flavour, this roadside venue is a welcome stop off in any hinterland journey. Don’t be frightened by the roughened exterior building or proprietor), this is a haven of wholesomeness. Try the ‘Otway Panther’, washed down with a dark ale or hot chai mixed locally). Sit by a warm fire and look over the Arboretum, listening to great Australian folk and blues often live). Don’t drive by, pull in an savour the moment.
My partner and I made a quick stop at this restaurant. We ordered two lattes and they arrived at our table promptly. I had heard some reviews about the man who serves, with some saying he can be rude. However, we actually appreciated the lack of small talk. Ordering and enjoying the coffee was simple and to the point. The man didn't bother greeting us or asking how our day was going, but that was fine with us. He hardly spoke at all, but we didn't mind because his coffee was outstanding.
We pulled in here thinking that there would be lots of memorabilia about UFO,s and other stuff however, it looks like the place has changed hands is the last few years and now is basically just a shed that serves alcohol and food. Service was bad and as the result we did not stay long. Perhaps we went there with to much expectation.
