Bidrage med feedbackWe had a great time here for a day and night before boarding our cruise. The location was excellent, the rooms were clean, and there were no issues. The Clevelander was amazing, and we loved sitting by the pool, having a snack, enjoying some drinks, and dancing to the late-night music. Entrées: Shrimp tacos we're delicious And so was the Steak nachos DRINKS: MIAMI VICE
Not great. It was a dated old hotel. There was no elevator, so we had to carry our cases to the three floors to our room, which was in some sort of annex. You smelled the carpet before you saw it in the communal hall on the way to the room). The room itself was clean and okay, aside from the shower, which didn’t work. When the staff did get it working, it was very hit-and-miss. Staff had a very casual, relaxed attitude to any concerns, which may suit some travelers, but I am quite keen on hot water and the ability to get drinking water.
Bathrooms are outdated, room was OK other than location I don't think I'd book again, I let management know there was liquid spilled in front of TV and toilet looked dirty on back end they only sent someone to clean bad customer service
My best friend and I attended an event this weekend and stayed here. When we arrived, we were told that the elevator was broken. However, the event we were attending had The Essex house as its host hotel. The event was catered to plus size women. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the elevator is broken. So people are carrying their suitcases up and down flights of stairs. Also, when we arrived, we kept being told that the room wasn’t ready, it’ll be 30 minutes. After 30 minutes went by, we went back to the counter, the front desk agent said it’ll be 15 more minutes. After 15 minutes we went back again, he said just 15 more minutes. Eventually, after an hour, we were given our room assignment. I won’t be staying here again. It is also an older hotel, I don’t recommend. Modern is the way to go. Last thing, the hotel does NOT have a refrigerator or microwave. Most important is the refrigerator. They have an ice machine on the 2nd floor, went there last night and it wasn’t working. Guest services had to bring us ice after 2 phone calls. DO NOT STAY HERE.
When I returned from my trip I found a charge on my card for $193.80. Two months later I still cannot get the hotel to give me an answer as to what the charge is, nor the refund that I processed directly and through Airbnb. The lack of response to messages is unacceptable. Really an abuse on the part of the hotel and an unfair commercial mechanism.
