Alliance Cafe - Darlington

We came here for breakfast a few days ago for the first time in many years. Unbeknown to us it had just changed ownership in the last couple of weeks. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with how clean everything was. The lady behind the counter could not have been more welcoming and we ordered our breakfasts without any misgivings. We picked up our cutlery etc (which was sparkling) and found a seat. The whole place is absolutely immaculate now. Please disregard old reviews, you will not be disappointed. The menu is varied (see photo) and prices are the best we have seen for years. The cafe has been totally renovated and we would not hesitate to eat here again. We are planning a return visit soon. Highly recommend the bacon sandwiches! Please pop in and support these lovely people if you are in the area. They are definitely open but having difficulty with previous owners for access to Google/website etc to update hours.

The actual “big breakfast” is rather good especially the black pudding, unfortunately because eating in wasn’t an option on the Saturday we had to take the breakfast away in a polystyrene food container and there was so much oil and grease that we had to tear the lid off the containers and transfer the food to the lids.

The best breakfast in Darlington, haven't been there since I was a kid, used to be for the industrial.area workers, totally changed inside, its very clean not cluttered, well laid out, the large breakfast was perfect, coffee was great. Staff were great very chatty, if the owners could put that quality of food in the town centre , most places you go in the town things like black pudding is extra, well it shouldn't be if order a greasy spoon breakfast (it was greasy by the way) I expect it all, price was great as well.

This place really offers first class food. Have eaten before and had the hearty breakfast with was grease free. This time had panini and home made chips. The quality and amount of food was impressively and better than most local restaurants and pubs not to mention cheaper brilliant

Stumbled across this place whilst completing a few errands. As I was hungry and keen for a good cooked breakfast after a long wait due to the unlawful lockdowns draconian restrictions. Well the staff were lovely, the breakfast was top notch and latte was also excellent. Also in 2021, the year of encroaching communism this is my kinda place (if you know what I mean) Cheers. I'll be back for certain.
