Bidrage med feedbackChose The Commons before a show at a nearby theatre, so time was limited. Had a very pleasant meal, service was quick and friendly. Would go back.
The Food was delicious, the wine even better, and the service was excellent. I typed 'eat local Sydney' into my phone and this place was the first result. The reviews were good, it wasn't too far from our location and the menu was intriguing. And it did not disappoint at all!! After we established the European ties that bind, and found common ground in room temperature white wine, the owner recommended the zucchini flowers. Already following his lead on Italian wine, we thought we'd also give that a try, as well as accepting his recommendation on our mains. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection, and to us they were mostly new and intriguing experiences of the dishes we ordered. Very impressed! Wine is important to us, and it too was a great choice to accompany our food. The service was as if we walked into a friend's place. This place will definitely forever be on our list of restaurants to return. Oh yes, the building itself is an 1850's quaint place, behind a little courtyard used for outdoor dining. Inside they have the original and typically Sydney sandstone, a fireplace, wooden floors, and an additional basement bar. Definitely recommend!
On our first night in Sydney my sister and I went to eat at this lovely little restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the food was even better. Since it was my sister's birthday, we even got a complimentary dessert. So thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this place - they have plenty of vegetarian dishes as well.
Margaret and I had a delicious feed in the small courtyard the Commons Local offered. It was slightly cool, but I hear that's what winter is known for and I could hardly hold such a fantastic eatery responsible! The food is fantastic.
We Dined here on a busy Sat night with family (from Townsville & Melbourne) on my nephews recommendation and we Loved it! It's cosy, warm & inviting with stylish feel to it.Our Waiters were very attentive, fun & informative, albeit a little hard to understand at times (specials lost in translation).Cocktail list is extensive, we tried a few but just didn't find one we loved.Food was delicious...stuffed zucchini blossoms a definite recommended starter. All meals served in a timely order on a busy night. ✅Our service for drinks was excellent & the bonus...water jugs regularly filled w/o requesting!A fun (not too drunken) night capped off when we headed to the funky, cozy downstairs Bar - Downtown for some live blues music with "Big Mama and the Sugar Daddies"!
