Phamish - Darlinghurst

Been there a couple of times now. Unpretentious, no-frills place. You order at the cashier and are brought the food in due course. Waitstaff nice and attentive. The food is good - so far we (the two of us) had the salt n pepper squid (twice, the first time it was sensational, the second time it was too dry), the papaya salad (very good), barramundi stir fried (pretty good), the grilled beef salad (nothing really to write home about), and the scallap dumplings (a first, nice). Brought our own wine (corkage is three dollars per person) and walked out with a 60 - 70 dollar bill. Not unreasonable for the location and the quality of the food. Definitely will go back there at some point but doubt it will become a regular hang-out.

Absolutely brilliant meal. Nothing fancy about this place but the food makes up for it. The crispy skin chicken, pork belly, spring rolls were all to die for. A little on the pricey side for the setting. Would return however and recommend.

I've been to this place several times over the years at two separate locations. Food is always pleasing. And the restaurant is never slow! Order at the counter and the food is brought to the table. Everything tastes great - so fresh and the flavors and like no other.

I went for dinner here with two friends after someone recommended it. Even though we knew it was a 2 hours sitting, the lady said to us "If it was Ok to leave at 7:30 (so in 1 hour)" no it wasn't Ok, specially because they told us something different over the phone. The food was really good and fresh, it's BYOW which is always a plus and service was fast - maybe too fast?As soon as they saw that we were almost finished they started coming every 20 minutes to ask if we could leave soon. They came around 4 times in 45 minutes, they even ask us to finish the wine over there in the open area in front of the restaurant - no tables or chairs in that area just an open area.I just dont understand why would you take the booking and say two hours sitting if they are going to arras the customer? I don't really care if you over booked the restaurant or if you are trying to get more customers. I was a new customer, we loved the food but I don't think we will go back.

I manage to book a table over the phone and it was ready when we arrived. We shared 3 dishes and all 3 of them surprised us for being so good! You can bring your own wine (which we didn't) and service is quite good (pouring water all the time). Delicious sauces, delicious duck pancake, really highly recommended (and the places around it in the square make it more dynamic too).
