Bidrage med feedbackBeen to Food Society a few times and each time has been a nice experience. Staff are friendly and efficient and they actually take the time to chat to you about their signature dishes and food in general. The share plates are awesome and it is true, the fried cauliflower is the best! I love their cocktails and the cosiness of the restaurant. Its all ticks from me!
We arrived at 12:45pm, but thought we would be seated at 12pm so some of our guests were waiting a long time. It was rather stuffy due to no air conditioning and very cramped, having to ask another table to move when wanting to get out for toiletting etc. The food itself was rather delicious, a few pieces we weren't too keen on but it took a while to come out and the service was average. Desserts were absolutely awesome. We were actually quite underwhelming as this place came so highly recommended. One waitress argued with one of our girls when she made a mistake on the wine and we would have liked a bit more attentiveness. They were very good sports in taking photos of our group which was kind but we felt $70 per person was a bit steep.
Fabulous little place tucked in around the funky area off Stanley St. This was a gift from a friend for my partners birthday. The description looked very enticing. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and shown our table for two. Saturday afternoon and several big tables of women having a great chat and catch up along with a hens group. Needless to say the noise level was quite high :)The folks looking after us conveniently moved us to a quieter part of the restaurant where we enjoyed a fabulous vodka cocktail and iced tea. The first course of the high tea was savory, edgy and quite delicious. However the second course was a little disappointing as it was pretty much standard fare with traditional finger cut sandwiches. Perhaps a little too much bread. Third course was again a bit more edgy and if you have a sweet tooth you would be delighted.Over all, a relaxing hour or so but I think it is more suited to a group catch up rather than couples.Though I am very interested to return to sample their other evening menu.
We have been wanting to try this place for so long, and glad we finally did. The food is modern Eastern European, and as our heritage is the same, we were very happy with all their twist on traditional dishes. It may be an acquired taste, but we were very happy with everything. The fried cauliflower is to die for, and the dishes are perfect for sharing. We didn't try dessert but definitely will next time!Service was fantastic, and staff were very friendly and attentive. I was surprised that it wasn't busier for a Friday night. Definitively worth a try, especially if your ancestry is the same. It was a modern take on the food I basically grew up with, which was awesome. Highly recommend :)
Six girlfriends had an amazing experience with High Tea. This is a quirky, fun venue with delicious food.
