After my third time here I decided this place just doesn’t cut it. Though it is conveniently located close to my work, I just couldn’t help but feel snubbed by the service there after this most recent experience.I am allergic to kanikama (fake crab meat) and asked them to sub for a cheaper item (salmon roll) when I ordered the sushi platter (includes choice of California-kanikama roll or spicy tuna roll).They allowed the substitution after initially saying no, but when I said I was allergic they said they would make an exception. However they ended up charging me extra for the item even though it was actually cheaper on the menu than the item I was substituting.Also what threw me off almost as much was the fact that the server actually initially said the California roll did not contain fake crab meat. I asked him to check with the chef and he came back admitting that I was correct. I don’t know about you but I feel like the server should know more about the menu items than the customer, and it’s just shameful that they wouldn’t know the basic ingredients of something as ubiquitous is a California roll. Show me a California roll that doesn’t have fake crab meat. They practically don’t exist.The quality of the fish itself was decent, and the pieces were prepared well, but that can definitely be found elsewhere with more knowledgeable and accommodating service.

I love this place but I just picked up some sushi and one of my sweet potato rolls had a chunk of sharp plastic in it ?

That was our second time at this restaurant. Last time , more than a year ago. Both times we really liked the food. Also, the martinis were good and at a reasonable price.
