Bidrage med feedbackThe atmosphere and drinks are top notch. The service was good as well, however, the food was horrible. We both had the lobster fettuccine and it smelled like vomit and tasted horrible. Go for the atmosphere but stay away from the food.
A well oiled machine, The Saloon turns out deftly cooked and served steaks, seafood, and pasta, in charming surroundings: lobster Française, langostines, and clams casino taste even better amidst dark wood paneling bestrewn with fine paintings and local kitsch. New York strip steak Marsala is almost a cliché, often hum-drum in lesser restaurants, but I can’t stop thinking how good this version tasted. Same for the langostines, stuffed clams, lobster, and even the sides. On the two occasions I’ve eaten at Saloon, dessert has been good enough, if not life-changing, but there wasn’t much room left for it either, which speaks to the quality of everything that preceded, beginning with warm bread, pesto, olives, and pecorino.
We have been wanting to try this place for year and finally got around to it. To be honest, it’s not worth the hype. There are plenty of other Italian places in the city that are better and more reasonably priced. The service wasn’t great either our waitress let us know it was her last table and made us feel rushed. Glad I went to say I’ve been but probably won’t go back.
This place was highly recommended ony visit to Philly, and it didn't disappoint. The veal parmesiano was amazing! Parking: The restaurant parking lots are a 1/2 block away, but easy to get to.
Amazing! If you go during summer time be sure to try their Italian Waterice Martinis Peach Mozzarella Caprise Salad... everything is so delicious! Buon Appetito!
