Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I went in to get some beers to go, and the waitress directed us to pick which ones we’d like out of the to-go beer fridge ourselves and to take it to the counter to pay. $6-$7 per can is a steep price, but what really spoiled my impression of the brewery was the waitress: my total was $19.50, so I handed her a $20 and she said “thanks, have a great night” and began to walk away with a table’s drink order. I said “I’m sorry, I didn’t get my change?” She replied “you want your change back? Ok, yeah, I guess” and she put her head down and walked back to the till and handed me the change. It’s one thing to want a tip for self-serve to-go beer, it’s another thing to just take a customer’s change and keep it for yourself. This really didn’t feel like an ‘oops, I forgot your change’ situation, and I won’t be going back to this brewery because of it.
Great beer, I just wish the hours were better. It'd be a great place to grab a beer on a weekend afternoon, rather than waiting until 4:30 for them to open.
Great restaurant! The building itself is cool, great food! Would recommend! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We walked in about 4:30 on a Thu and sat at the bar. We were the only customers, but that would change a good deal by the time we left around 6pm. The atmosphere here was perfect for us relaxed and comfortable. This includes Orin (spelling? who was our very personable and knowledgeable bar tender. We hit it off well with him but so did everyone else, and many locals were sitting at the bar rather than tables. A nod to him for sure. Beers have amusing names and several were exceptional (ie, Roller skating on your head Did you bring your bucket? We’re headed back to Cincy in Ohio this weekend and I can say that from NY to Maine and now MA this bar was our favorite. It’s all about the experience and the Shire handles this very well! Thanks so much!!
Overall a very nice experience. I got the conquistador and it had a very nice flavor and good amount of shrimp/chorizo. My wife got the vegan tacos, also very flavorful. We shared the truffle fries, that was a new experience, yummy. The industrial/rustic decor was cool. I had a flight so I got to try 4 of their house beers. Definitely recommend. One final comment about value. We're from NW Pennsylvania and the cost of living must be lower there. It seemed pricy, but when compared with the other places I've eaten on this trip it is pretty comparable.
