First and last time here. Some very good points. The staff was very nice, and despite some food issues, they remained professional and really tried to help. The seafood gumbo was excellent! The fried banana peppers was a unique treat we all really enjoyed. But as a steakhouse, this place falls painfully short. Two of our 4 ordered filets but received strip steaks. We tried to get the issue corrected, but the owner (via phone when the staff called) said they were just a different shaped filet . We accepted the staff telling us this without further complaont because it was obvious the owner wasn 't going to have them correct the issue. The two pics included show MY filet, which was definitely a filet mignon, and one of the other steaks they tried to say was also a filet. You can be the judge. But I 'm not a fan of paying filet prices for a standard strip steak. Even with the cut of steak issue aside, none of the steaks had any flavor, including the ribeye, which was very tough. All of us had to add salt and pepper just to make them edible. One of our party even considered asking for steak sauce. That 's a cardinal sin in our group. So that should tell you something.

They are a BYOB spot which caught us by surprise but understandably so due to its proximity to a school. The bacon wrapped shrimps were top notch. I would also definitely recommend the seafood gumbo. I felt the calamari was a bit greasy and not very well seasoned. The fried oysters were a no for me. First time trying them so maybe it’s a me thing. The rice fish and veggies on the other hand were great. I do however wish the fish was served with some lemony parsley sauce or fresh herb sauce by default. Having to pick and choose was courteous but felt a bit off when I heard the options. The atmosphere was okay and definitely made a lot better with the service. The owner made sure to keep everyone engaged and homely
