Bidrage med feedbackI sat in a stand and the pillow was so bad that I sat in a bucket. The food was moderate and bland. The waiter had to check three times to answer questions we had on the menu.
Eating is good. People are great. Many memories here. One of my favorite places to stop when I'm in town.
Food is great, but the service is terrible. It took at least 15 minutes to get a glass of water. I ordered Pommes with my meal and they never showed up. There were two people who worked as waiters who didn't care about the delays at all. We finished without our order and then, when we left, they brought out the fries we missed. I can understand that a restaurant is busy, but the waiter didn't give a ****.
Tried the Bangers and fries and an onion rings appetizer with curry sauce.Onions rings by themselves were ok, the curry sauce rescued them. Bangers were good too, the fries with curry sauce were excellent. The decor really benefits from the low light. Service was fast and very good.
The Duke has been around for decades and hasn 't succumbed to the drollness of the Silicon valley blueprint for bars these days. Which is a good thing! So many pubs and bars are filled with a dozen huge TVs, super loud annoying music, and sacrifice originality in chase of the next coolest trend. Not that there 's anything wrong with that . But the Duke remains true to its roots. Imagine stepping into a page from a Sherlock Holmes chapter. Its cozy, low-lit ambiance is welcoming. They pour Guinness or Smithicks from a tap. And for the IPA fans, they have Space Dust. You can throw steel tip darts. And after you 've worked up an appetite order bangers and mash or fish and chips. It 's truly a gem in the land of silicon, and I hope they never change!
