Bidrage med feedbackOne of the popular Japanese fusion restaurants. I think it's a tapas place because of the size of the dishes: almost all the dishes we tried are great. Name below: Sashimi: about 8 different fish, 2 pieces each fish. All are fresh and delicious? Clay Pot Reis: must try. I think it's enough for four people? Fresh oysters: This is seasonal, ask the staff Make sure to make a reservation in advance. The front door is easy to miss.
Good mood and Japanese decoration and culinary experience. But the food was pretty mediocre. I felt like I was overpaid for dinner. I expected a higher end food at this price. The potato cheese grater looks like something I could do at home.
Gochi is a solid option for Japanese tapas! We tried: Yofu Yakko: this seemed like a merger take on Caprese salad with shiso replace basil and tofu replace mozzarella. The idea was good, but the slices of each ingredient created awkwardly size bite. Yuzu Tori: that was delicious and the sauce was neither too sour, salty or sweet. The grilled taste of the chicken really came through. Yuzu Kamo: I liked the chicken version better, but there are no playful aromas here. The salsa gives an additional touch of freshness. Gyutan Shioyaki: Tororo Udon: It's okay, but the Tororo hasn't done well in the hot soup and quickly distributed. Next time I'd try the cold version. Yaki Onigiri: the absolute star of the show! The Onigiri is so carefully grilled that the crumb is so crispy and the aroma is so nutty. I drank the salmon Mayo, but next time would decide for a simple version. After enjoying a few bites, I have this in the left udon dashi soup for an almost ochazuke and it was amazing!? Kani Cream Gratin: that was fine, the aromas of crab did not really come for me here. Sweet potatoes: It was a tough decision between this or Matcha-Creme-Brudel, but I'm glad I went with this. The contrast of the cold ice with the warm casting was excellent. The aromas of Custard and the sweet potato worked well, and the touch of mint was refreshing. I definitely come back to try more things, but also to serve another crispy rice balls! Parking is quite easy here.
Ceviche: 3/5 average, tiny part. Hamachi cp: 4/5, slightly overloaded, but fresh. Mentaiko Pizza: 4/5, very crisp, but too much mushrooms, you can taste nothing else. Grilled beef tone: 1/5, not order. Also the service is kind of slow, we had to wait for half an hour and they only allow you to dinate 1.5 hours.
Honestly, this place has really good atmosphere and ambiance which is perfect for a dinner date. They have both regular seating area and the Japanese style with tatami floor dining area. However, that?s pretty much it.. Food wise presentation was 4 out of 5 and taste was pretty mediocre in my opinion (3/5). They also never pick up their phone, so you need to do reservations vis Yelp. Once you?re there, a couple servers will keep reminding you about your time limit (for us it was 1.5 hr, which wasn?t too bad for my party).
