Paris 16 Cafe - Cuauhtémoc

This little jewel in reforma is not a beautiful place, but the food is unrealistic. Especially if you are the best Chiles en nogada, a seasonal speciality!!

For 6 years when I lived in Mexico City for pleasure or business in the 90s and in all my subsequent trips to Mexico City, this is always in my agenda: lunch in Paris 16 Cafe. It is located only on the attractive and revitalized... reforms Ave near the statue of angels, but at the end of a small passageway that leads from the road. They would not know that it was there unless someone (like I) had recommended it. The service is great and the food is varied and delicious with varied drinks including alcoholic drinks. Not recommended for children as most clientele use it for business dinners or come together with business friends and colleagues in a private place to talk and enjoy each other without sneaking the eyes. There is art on the wall for sale if interested. After a few visits you will be on a first name basis with one of the owners and of course the service will simply be better and better. One of my favorites! A secret is that when in the season they have the best Chiles rellenos en nogada . It fills very quickly, so best to get there between 1 and 1:30 or go to someone and save a table.

Beautiful and clean little bistro, secluded, but very centric to Mexico City financial district. Menu is not paid, but very well selected with specific special orders, which are innovative and changed daily. Divorced Chilaquiles (green and red salsa) were made perfect.... Bread is also quite great. I'm just mentioning the service... as stated in the name of the article, expecting French services. Not very often, not very concentrated on detail.... but something from a hint to a service still available. Try it. Make your own opinion. Sure a place to try. Maybe you will be regularly!!

A small hidden restaurant that has been open for more than 25 years. Service is always excellent and everything is fresh. Corned beef and roast beef are cooked in the house. Breakfast is very good and the place quiet after 8:30 that the bankers in the... area go to their desks. Lunch is the option. Great sandwiches and home kitchen. Ask for the special day. Unless you're allergic!

Great nice and quiet place in the middle of a very chaotic area. Huevos Paris 16 were incredible, as well as the carrot juice. Government officials regularly go there for quiet breakfasts, and when you catch them you can easily overhear one or two interesting...facts. Note that the building where this is located has a mirror building across the avenue; both built by celebrity architect Mario Pani.
