Cafe Shack - Croydon

My friend and I visit here every other day or so for a hot chocolate or latte. Staff are very nice and friendly. Food is excellent quality and quick to arrive. Does get busy especially of a weekend but well worth it.

A lovely welcoming cafe. We all ordered breakfasts and the food for very nice and big portions! It was a little gem and really made a good start to our day. Will definitely be returning very soon!

The staff and food at this restaurant were exceptional. It had been some time since I last visited, but the service was just as great as it has always been. I would definitely recommend this café if you find yourself in the area.

I am very disappointed with the service my friend and I received, despite the food being really good. The waitress made me feel stupid when I asked questions about the set breakfast, and her response was rude and disrespectful. Additionally, we were not informed that the restaurant only accepts cash until we received the bill, which I believe is the responsibility of the staff. When we attempted to pay, the nearby cash machine was not working, forcing my friend to walk 20 minutes to the next one. When I mentioned the inconvenience to the waitress, she responded in a dismissive and unacceptable manner. She insisted that we should have known about the cash-only policy because the restaurant has been in business for 12 years, but we had never been there before. She refused to take any accountability and expected us to be aware of the payment policy upon entering the restaurant. Due to this experience, we will not be returning.

We had a delightful Sunday morning breakfast at this family-run cafe. The warm welcome we received made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
