Bidrage med feedbackOutstanding, but the food would get 5 stars if they had informed us that the risotto was spicy... Other than that, top notch.
Bang bang shrimp tacos were delicious. Service was friendly, appropriate and efficient. We weren't rushed, seated as requested. Perfect.
The absolute star of this restaurant's menu is the bang bang shrimp appetizer. As shown in the photo, you get a generous portion (note: the bowl is filled level to its rim with lettuce on which the shrimp are mounded). The shrimp are cooked perfectly, surrounded by a crispy coating, and smothered in the most delicious sauce you are ever likely to encounter on fried seafood. It has medium heat, a creamy texture, and assertive flavors from Asian spices. For a main, I had a 7-oz sirloin steak with two sides, fries and, for an upcharge, asparagus. For a seafood restaurant, they do a very good job with steaks. Our only disappointment was with the Kung Pao brussel sprouts that my wife ordered. They were a bit greasy, and the sauce was underwhelming. UPDATE-1: We returned and this time ordered two bang bang shrimp appetizers. Again, delicious! I ordered a Caesar salad as a second course. I was disappointed in that the romaine lettuce was not very crisp and the dressing was a bit bland. My wife had better luck with a cheeseburger. She liked the brioche roll and found the patty moist and tasty. UPDATE-2: Returned to find that they had a prix fixe special dinner for two which turned out to be an incredible bargain for the quantity and quality of food provided. For an upcharge we added an appetizer of bang bang shrimp. It was absolutely outstanding as always, and is the call mark of this restaurant. This was followed by two salads, a mixed salad for my wife and a Caesar salad for me. The Caesar salad was better than the one I had ordered here previously. It had fresh romaine lettuce and a tasty dressing. This was followed by two entrees. We both chose the chimichurri filet with two sides. I had french fries and broccoli. They were both very good and the steak was exceptional. It was cooked as ordered, very tender, and well complimented by the sauce. The dinner included one dessert to share, and it was certainly large enough for two people. We ordered the brownies with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce. The fudgy brownies were a delicious way to end the meal. The service was excellent and the ambience was very good. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Syracuse. UPDATE-3: Had the bang bang shrimp tacos. Great alternative to the bang bang shrimp appetizer. The French fries were just made, hot and crisp. UPDATE-4: The bang bang shrimp were excellent as always. For an entree, we chose a skewer of four scallops and five shrimp with sides of french fries and broccoli to share. The shrimp were slightly overcooked and rubbery, but they tasted great dipped in the lemon butter caper sauce provided. The scallops were excellent. UPDATE-5: My wife loved her pan-seared scallops with spicy Mexican street corn. However, the restaurant missed the mark with my dish. The steak, ordered medium, was overcooked, dry, and lacked taste. The shrimp were very overcooked and rubbery. And, the oily chimichirri sauce was very disappointing as I had enjoyed it at this restaurant a month ago. The french fries were excellent and my coleslaw was good. So after eating here a number of times, my observation would be that they are not always consistent. UPDATE-6: I was interested in trying a new dish, so I ordered the restaurant's signature pasta dish with shrimp. It included linguine with slivered red bell pepper, quartered artichoke hearts in a creole flavored cream sauce. Unfortunately, the pasta was not appealing. The sauce was gummy and tasted like cheese whiz with little evidence of creole seasoning. I picked out the shrimp, peppers and artichokes and left 80% of the dish on my plate. We like this restaurant very much when they're on their best game, but the food seems to be inconsistent, perhaps do to the number of chefs that run the kitchen. Reluctantly, I'm reducing my rating from 5 stars to 4. Even their most delicious and popular dish, bang bang shrimp, was off today as some of the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. UPDATE-7: Did not care for the side of risotto but enjoyed the coleslaw that came with our scallops and shrimp skewers.
Place is great, price point is a little higher than normal for this kind of food. Still a really good spot with yummy drinks!
Ordered takeout. I sat in car for about 10 minutes waiting for staff to bring out the food after checking in that I was parked outside. I finally went inside to pick up myself. Food was cold. When we dine in food is very good. We have had issues several times with takeout. Tonight will be the last time we order takeout from Bone Fish in Fayettevile.
