Yvonne's - Crossing

If you are in the Beacon Hill area, you have to stop by this beautiful speakeasy-ish restaurant and bar. The drinks, food and vibe are out of this world, literally. We shared a bunch of different foods from the menu that spanned many diverse cultures. The couple flatbreads were amazing and super flavorful, Tunisian Chicken and Sujuk. We got a couple cocktail that were also fantastic, both gin drinks were great. There was one with torched rosemary.The main course was the coconut rock shrimp and the lamb belly. Everything was fantastic and worth a try.10/10 would recommend and would go again in a heartbeat. The main dining area is where the party is at but would get a resy if you can.

Such a unique vibe and beautiful interior! We were seated downstairs which we got to through a secret bookcase which I’ve never seen at a restaurant before. We were the only table downstairs for a while which was nice because the upstairs was quite loud. The food was Mediterranean tapas style which we generally loved. Coconut shrimp was a crowd pleaser. Octopus was super unique. Sujuk pita had great flavor. My only note was for the he Kale Farro salad, which was delicious but a bit overdressed. The highlight for us was when the meal was over, our waiter brought over glasses of Champagne to celebrate a birthday, graduation, and engagement. It really made the experience feel like a celebration and was incredibly kind.

This establishment has denied my entry when presenting a green card/permanent resident ID. The ABCC does not include a permanent resident card as a valid form of ID and the establishment has a right to reject it. That being said, I have NEVER had an issue being accepted into bars or buying liquor ANYWHERE (except Lolitas in Back Bay) in the years since being 21, I am now 28. I might add that this is a valid form of ID for domestic travel (within the US). Knowing that I can get the other forms of ID (which I have not) it is still appalling that a permanent resident ID, a FEDERALLY issued document which are incredibly rarely faked compared to typical fake IDs used by the underage population, is still not accepted in establishments selling alcohol in Massachusetts. Why isn’t a federally issued ID valid in the country from which it was issued? UNBELIEVABLY disappointed in Yvonne’s making this personal discernment given that for years I have been allowed by 99% of establishments to buy and consume alcohol. Finally, I will add, that at the time of entry I presented both a DNI (Spanish National Identification Card) and a Providence Municipal ID card which corroborated my date of birth. I will NOT, as many 1 star reviews end, be returning to this establishment.

Good food and drinks but unfortunately, the last time we visited, our friends were refused entry with their green card. (Folks with out-of-state IDs were accepted. The bouncer gave no reason beyond “we aren’t accepting those right now.” Without any valid reason, the only explanation is discrimination. Shameful.

I have been to Yvonne’s many times. Last night I took a friend from out of town for dinner. Our server Olowm treated us like VIP’s. From the moment I walked in the door the experience was amazing! The drinks at Yvonnes are so unique and refreshing, thank you Sam and Ian for creating such a great cocktails for me always! The food was just incredible and the presentation beautiful. Thank you again to all the staff from the host team, bar tenders and Patrick and especially Olowm for making our dining experience so perfect. You must have an ID to enter, no international ID’s are accepted so if you want to consume alcohol BRING YOUR PASSPORT if you’re an international traveler otherwise you’ll be denied.
