Bidrage med feedbackA unique twist on traditional Chinese dumplings. On my recent visit to their South Boston café, I found myself enchanted by their approach to dumplings – a blend of classic techniques with inventive, local twists. As I entered, a lively dumpling cooking class was underway on one side of the store, adding an engaging dynamic to the atmosphere. I decided to try all their dumpling selections, and some of my favorites were the Lemongrass Pork, Cumin Lamb, and the 5 Spice Tofu Mushrooms. Where Mei Mei really shined was in their dipping sauces. These savory fillings went really nicely with their creamy and nutty dipping sauce. On the other hand, the fillings for the curried sweet potato and the Cheddar scallion felt a bit dense and heavy, but their respective sweet dipping sauce made them better. Beyond dumplings, we tried the Crispy Sichuan Tofu Tots and Scallion Pancakes. Dusted with a fusion of coriander, Sichuan peppercorns, and ginger, the tots were a crunchy, flavor-packed treat. In contrast, the scallion pancakes were notably thinner than typical Chinese variants, resulting in a more enjoyable crispiness. Though I wouldn’t classify these as the best dumplings I’ve ever tasted, they certainly rank among the most intriguing in Boston. For anyone seeking unconventional dumplings, Mei Mei is a must-try.
Amazing food and super friendly staff. I love that the dumplings are made by hand. Lovely space, don't forget to tip, they deserve it!
MUST do class whether visiting Boston or live in the area. So fun and the food was great!
Went during bottomless dumpling event, the chicken lemongrass were great but the others were interesting might have been better if they were hot.
Super delicious dumpling spot in southie with an extremely creative and delicious menu! The double awesome sandwich and cheddar scallion potato dumplings were my favorites but everything we ordered was a hit.
