Bidrage med feedbackEasily accessible walking (15 mins) from the South Station Bus Terminal, however was a little from where the main area of South Boston Waterfront is. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable, comforter had a big stain on the corner. Sink counter had dust and hair. It was doable. I wasn’t in the hotel for the majority of the day anyways so didn’t really bother me too much. Shower had some left over stains in it and I made sure to clean it with a towel before entering it. The way the lights turn on was a little strange, it only turns on with the main switch on. If I wanted to leave the bedroom light on I couldn’t do it without the entire room being lit. At the end of my stay every Chinese employee greeted me, which I found very strange as the employees the days prior who weren’t Chinese didn’t and they shouldn’t have to. I was walking to the elevator and was greeted by a male employee who also happened to be Chinese. He was waiting for me to come down the hall and I noticed that he was awkwardly paying attention to me with his phone and a device held at an angle to film me walking down the hall. He saw I was looking at him and shuffled the device and his phone as if to make it seem like he wasn’t doing anything. I don’t know if the hotel thought if I was doing something wrong that they had to have their Chinese staff (housekeeping and other staff) pay attention to me as I was also Chinese. Was it because I stayed alone? This is very strange because normally housekeeping just minds their own business and does their job.
My stay at Aloft has been great. The location and service have been wonderful. What really set my stay apart was Svet (front desk). She went above and beyond to help me out while I was sick. She ordered me food (they don’t offer room service so did this on her own) and delivered to me because I was sick, along with all of her other duties while multiple business events were going on and the hotel is very busy. This was the epitome of service. Thank you Svet and Aloft!
Good hotel, but a few things to know.1. The shower dose have a strange window in it that other roommates can see you if they try.2. We had two queen beds. The beds slide around on the frames. This isn't so bad, but I've cracked my shin on the bed frames several times, so have my roommates. I haven't had this many scars on my shins since I played soccer. Would not be ideal for older or Handy cap people.3. Lighting in the room is slightly dim.4. The shower has low water pressure, which sucks, but really is a nice shower.5. The pool is closed.Otherwise, I liked the room and location. I would stay here again. I would just bring my shin guards.
I prepaid 4 months in advance for a king and got downgraded to a queen and didn't get any money back. they said it was due to a wedding that was happening?!?!?!?!?!? I come to Boston once a month and been to both element Aloft (both same owners) I will never come back again. The women at the front desk, with a grey suit should not be working at any hotel with people. There are already many comments and reviews about her. she was in a bad mood with every guest that she had and we had a verbal fight as with the next few customers after. The room itself was trashy and I could literally hear people in all walls of the room including ceiling and floor. I woke up due to people just whistling in the next room.. THE ac unit was loud and also kept changing temperatures on its own, one minute it was hot one minute it was cold....PARKING: Park yourself!!! It is cheaper and they don't want you to know that there is public parking near by and they promote valet parking and these guys will rev your engine and speed (literally saw 5 workers do this. blue Buick NH license plate hope your car is okay) the lady from desk was pissed when I asked if there was any public parking...
Location is great. Cheap AF describes the building, decor, lack of amenities and quickly deteriorating furniture/decorations. The rooms are tight, like they specifically crammed as many rooms into this shabby building as they could. No microwave. No pool access even though they advertise it. No included breakfast(cost us $30) Tiny bathroom, with glass viewport into shower from main room?? Worn carpet, clumsy, sloppy construction throughout. $50 per day for parking on site, super annoying. And all of this for over $250/night.. what an embarrassing disappointment of a hotel, Marriott should knock it down and start over.
