Bidrage med feedbackI discovered the restaurant a hamburger on a recent trip to the san bernardino mountains. my young nephew was hungry after my family and I had spent the afternoon swimming at the gregorysee in crestline. he was bound and determined to go to mcdonalds for a happy meal. the McDonald’s, with his siren song for children, is on the road from the lake gregory. when we moved into the autobahn, I noticed a very sweet, old-fashioned looking hamburger stand that seemed to have been built the 1950s directly on the road. it was the “A” I tried to convince my neffen that the “A” probably had much better hamburger than McDonald’s, but I was rebuked and reminded that McDonald’s was the only place where to get happy meal toys. So we compromised and my brother took his son in mcdonalds, while my father and I ran over the road to the a and ordered food for the three of us grown up, that we landed again on the road. The “A” will certainly never appear in the Zagat guide, but if they like cheap, tasty hamburger stand-style kitchen, then they could simply like the “A.” I was glad to see that the “A” had a sortiment of items that I could eat as vegetarian, even if they don’t light the health. but I love fat spoons as much as the next type – okkasionell. the lead for me was the fact that they have real eismalz and shakes. the modern almost food spots’ shakes, which never contain malt, are made in the regular with a kind of mysterious chemical base that simply does not taste directly to me. my dad ordered 2 cheeseburger with all fastenings, one for him and one for my brother. he said they were the “real” species of hamburger from well-sized, spiced pieces of meat that are supposed to be on a flat grill. my dad pointed out that they have the same great taste and the skill that he remembered his younger days of eating burger in the 40s and 50s. he said he doesn’t care about the tiny, flat, tasteless pucks of mcjackinthekings. and since my dad was not particularly interested in getting a happy meal toys, he was very happy with the “A’s”. the “A” has some Mexican articles in addition to its sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs, such as burritos, quesadillas, taquitos and nachos. I had a tough decision. I wanted to eat Mexicans and finally chose the boron and cheese borrito with grilled tweepers, but I also wanted something on the side, although neither French pommes nor tweebel rings really go well with Mexican food, but I decided for the tweeper rings anyway. I just love her and whenever I see her on a menu, which is not as often as I want, I always order her. I'm glad I did it because they were perfectly dared near. they were super-crunchy and covered with a very tasty, not too greasy teig, and they did not go as cheeky as those of mcjackintheking. the burrito was not much better than the ones that I make home with dosen pinkrita bohnen, but it was good. I would probably have liked the quesadilla much better; they can't go wrong with molten cheese. but I was still very happy to know that there was at least something for me to eat, and that there were several, not just one, options. the girl standing next to us in the line ordered a basket of deep fried zucchini who looked very good and I think I would like to try the next time. I didn't see the French pommes because my dad decided to eat his cheeseburger-Sans-Fries. we all ordered large chocolate malt, which, as it turns out, was more than a sufficient amount of food for all of us. if the riders are as good as the two rings, I think they can probably not go wrong. So if they are out and on the go, wander or camp or swim, and the hungerpangs threaten, the “A” will really hit the place without taking a big hit from their wallet.
Liz's great! Yeah, she can be abrasive, but that's all part of the charm... obviously... Locals here LOVE them, she's an icon. The burgers are great, my daughter (which do not eat burgers) even agrees, only eats her occasionally a custom made at home. REAL food and amazing prices, if you cannot cope with the authenticity, then you will get the garbage over the road
I read the reviews about this place feel like people could be a bit judicious/rude. Yes, the owner (Liz) is foreign (Romanian, not Armenian). Yeah, she's blunt. But not rude. My husband, I actually had a nice conversation with Liz. She was simple, but never rude, sarcastic, or stunning. For the food you can expect classic entrance burgers that are cheap. And delicious fries. No ants, no health problems (and I'm kind of freak with cleanliness). It was great that I was definitely back.
So happy A burger is open again! The price is included, and everything on the menu meets all expectations, plus fresh tomatoes, salad and meat! Much better than In-N-Out! My family loves everything we got from here!
The owner, Liz, can sometimes come as rude, but it means good! She's a really beautiful person and a hard worker. Love the food also here, it cooks some amazing burgers.
