Bidrage med feedbackLe Donjon is in a shaded alley right next to the Town Hall of Crest. Shade comes not only from the covered terrace but also from the buildings around. We arrived on a Monday when most places are closed and streets deserted but Le Donjon was not only open but busy. The menu du jour was 13€ with aperitifs, house wine and coffee included, the bill came to 38€ for two. We both started with the salade Italienne, which was a meal in itself (lettuce, parma ham, mozzarella and melon slices). To follow I had araignée de porc; perfectly cooked and in an unctuous sauce with home-made chips. My wife enjoyed a salmon steak with braised fennel. The waiting staff were efficient, smiling and friendly. A really good find, we'll be back. Le Donjon is accessible for those with mobility problems.
Looking for somewhere open before the Tower opens! Famished and hot! the Donjon answered all our prayers. We sat in the shade on the terrace. It was a busy Monday lunch yet we were served fast, with a smile and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The menu a £12.50 was great and the dessert menu was very tempting! No it was not a gastronomic experience. It was the best and most relaxed lunch we had this break! Dogs more than welcome. Plenty of space inside too!
Welcoming and friendly. Good menu du jour for €15. I loved my duck dish and I have never been disappointed with the crème brûlée at this particular venue. Grammatical solecisms on the blackboard aside, this is our favourite lunch spot in Crest.
