Bidrage med feedbackThis was a fun place we were recommended to by our hostel. We recieved a welcome palinka shot and it just got better. Food was incredible and the staff was really nice and spoke English. Would recommend for a good night out with great food!
Just around the corner from the entrance to the Historic Centre is a family restaurant serving very tasty traditional Romanian food in the charming setting of a courtyard terrace (with open sky) at reasonable prices - very good value for money and heartily recommended!

I was looking for a place to eat and that was serving local cuisine was told by by the staff of my hotel the Hotel Helin Central that there was a place that server local Romanian cuisine and the said just go out turn left and there is a little restaurant on your left so I went out and walked right past this place as I did not realise the the little entrance I could see was a restaurant. I walk around a and eventually I walked down this little entrance with a lady selling clothes on my left to walk into a little oasis of a place with a small courtyard at the back which was wonderful and cool and very tranquil.I ate at this establishment twice in the four days I stayed in Craiova. First time I have a wonderful Snitel din carne de porc (Pork Schnitzel) with farm style potatoes and naturally this was washed down with the local beer called Timisoara. The second I ate here was just before I flew out out and had a wonderful Sunday lunch of a very local dish called Pui la ceaun scaldat an mujdei - Chicken that is cooked in a steel kettle in boiling oil and then served in a hot salt and garlic broth served with Polenta. This was all served with a great smile and a little smily face on the Polenta.
