I've been coming to this remote DQ for years, but first time as a dine-in customer. I've had both food and ice-cream. The location is off highway 58 East of Emporia and just outside of Franklin to West. It's an easy off and back on the road stop. The parking lot has plenty of room for cars, but not large enough for large trailers, RV, or semi tractors. I found the lot clean. They have a drive-thru that keeps very busy and has late night til 11 PM service. The dining room has adequate space for dining in and was clean! They also have a TV in front that's easily viewed from a table. Restrooms are in the rear, I did not utilize. My son and I stopped off for ice-cream only after a NC college tour. The ordering area was tidy. They do offer a full menu of food at this store which is super. Also cool that they display the candy toppings of the Blizzards. The young lady manning the cash register smiled as my son asked her about new Blizzard flavors. Our transaction was smooth and credit card payment processed without a hitch. Orders of strawberry shake and cookie dough Blizzard was staggered. The staff of approximately three to four were hustling to keep up with drive thru. The Blizzard came in around 5 minutes later and was properly presented upside down. We both found our cool treats delicious! This is a solid road stop for cool treats and hot bites. They also have mobil ordering which may be newer for the chain. The app can be downloaded. Recommend you don't drive by.
I am from the area. I love Dairy Queen in Courtland. The owner is a nice guy and the food is good. Exactly what you would expect from a Dairy Queen. They used to serve breakfast, but stopped after the Hardee's in Courtland opened up. I miss their breakfast, but can always drive to Franklin for my biscuit fix. Restaurant is clean, they have one of those fancy Coke machines, and good bathrooms. There's some tables to eat at outside. If you are traveling on 58, this is a great spot to stop.
