The Noodle Joint - Courtenay

I took my girlfriend out for lunch at this restaurant and we both had a great meal. We could taste the use of fresh ingredients in the food, which was delicious. The soup was especially outstanding!

This restaurant was absolutely terrible. It took me three attempts just to finally eat here because they had so many issues getting started.

Despite the friendly and prompt service at this restaurant, the meal was disappointing. It reminded me of the bland flavors you would serve to someone who is inexperienced with Asian cuisine. The concept of creating your own dish is interesting, but the final product was not enjoyable. Additionally, charging $5 for five tasteless shrimp is excessive. I shouldn't have to rely on hot sauce to make the food more palatable. The restaurant should reconsider their recipes, especially since they have strong competition from another noodle house on 5th St that is excellent. I tried the Noodle Joint for comparison purposes, but I won't be returning unless I hear that improvements have been made.

Food was borderline OK. Spring rolls were super greasy. Rice noodles were over cooked and falling apart - flavour were pretty bland.

We usually go to another noodle house in town, but I talked my husband into trying the noodle joint, what a mistake.Where do I start, there are so many negatives.Ridiculous price for what we got, some insipid veggies and gray stale chicken.We I mentioned to our server that the chicken was old she said not it wasn't it had been cooked yesterday. I expect fresh food when I go out to eat, if I wanted leftovers I would have stayed home.It is overpriced, we did not get the extra veggies we ordered.The server (I use the term loosley) brought our food but no cutlery, although she did tell us where to get it ourselves, I think she wanted us 5o clean our own table when we left.I can't believe that they are still in business, I should have read these reviews before we went.The give real noodle houses a bad name.
