Bidrage med feedbackThis is basically a meat eater 's place in fact there 's no veggie option on the menu at all (not even in the salads). Went with work colleagues though and waitress was quite happy to arrange to modify one of the salads on the menu to suit me, so I ended up with a Nicoise salad with no tuna and no anchovies but extra hard boiled egg and some cheese. Portion was very generous. Colleagues were pleased with their burgers. Reasonably priced for La Defense. Would go again.
I really enjoyed Hippopotamus, even though it is not the best steak I have had by a long shot it is a pretty solid place. The service, on the other hand, is hit or miss, the first day we were there a Monday evening the service was quite good two days later it was abysmal. Onto the food, all of us ordered the Chateau Briand which happens to be my favorite cut of meat. However, this was not a traditional Chateau Briand but rather a slice cut from it, so a more aptly description would be a filet. The meat was well cooked and the accompanying sauce in my case Bernaise was good not phenomenal, but good. Since this is not an upscale restaurant, neither the fries or the sauce was made to order but more likely pre made /pre packaged at least that is what it tasted like. Comparing it to a U.S. restaurant I would say it's considerably better than TGI Friday's but not as good as McCormick and Schmick's.
Business lunch for 2. Excellent burgers, tasty, well cooked [medium], juicy and quick service. Pression also good. It was late around 3.30 and they closed at 5.00 but the waitresses could have been more friendly and allowed us to stay after 5.00 to finish our meal. Would go again....
The advantage of choosing a chain establishment (restaurant or hotel) is to find a standard corresponding to an established specifications. So, you're safe from a deplorable bad surprise. beautiful restaurant and successful decor with many tables. Quick choice with 330g xl tin, stirring cooking, rice and small vegetables. missed cooking with a dry, ultra-cooked meat, forgotten on the grill?I point out to the waitress who offers me a second rib. I'm getting it because it made rice and small vegetables expensive, very good elsewhere. The second meat finally arrives but cooked blue. Defeated! This can't be voluntary, so there's a problem in the kitchen. we can't confuse bleeding and very cooked or blue. Stubborn in a steakhouse. In front of my confusion, the waitress will give me a commercial gesture by offering me my dinner. Disappointed and hungry. a comble!so my opinion is very mixed, you will understand it but not redhibitory for however. if my opinion and my photos were useful to you, please indicate it below.
Bravo and thank you. super home for my 6-year-old Coeliac (Gluten Insulating) girl. the restaurant manager took things in hand, checked all the ingredients and our daughter was able to have lunch safely! Certainly I had taken the trouble to call the day before to check and our reservation was at 11:45 or before the rush of the service but it is worth it. and there are still too few restaurants that make the effort to adapt to allergies so we have to congratulate them. We'll be back!
