Bidrage med feedbackWe visited a restaurant now called Charcoa and tried their Carvery. The menu stated 4 meats, but only 2 were actually available, which was disappointing. The mashed potatoes were burnt and stuck to the serving dish. The vegetables were decent. The desserts were overpriced and the selection was poor. Some staff members could use a lesson in politeness. I don't plan on returning to this establishment anytime soon.
This carvery was disappointing and nothing like it used to be. The Yorkshire pudding was miserable and the beef gravy was watery. When I asked for something else, I was given a cold meal that had to be sent back to be reheated. The staff didn't seem to care at all. It's a shame, but I will not be returning to this restaurant.
The meat was dry despite the efforts of the friendly server who replaced the cuts. The vegetables were overcooked and the Yorkshire puddings were completely inedible. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
I find it difficult to express how truly awful the experience was. There was a very small piece of beef and possibly pork left at 12.30 when we were supposed to be eating. They had some Yorkshire puddings and some mash. I ended up with three minute slices of beef ,cold on a hot plate and served myself some salad. There was one lad serving. I think there was moussaka on show, dreadfully overcooked ,ditto two lamb chops and something else unrecognisable. Yes there were waiters clearing up but old people with shaking hands carrying plates dripping with gravy. It was so yuk. People paying good money for this and they say there is a cost of living crisis. Oh and if you wanted a sandwich or soup there was a 45 minute wait.
Had not been here for a while and was persuaded to go again. On arrival it all looked the same so went to the bar for drinks very expensive and limited beer choice as no real ale. On to lunch and the carvery had a vey uninviting display of meat and other dishes. Chose beef but no roasties and no crackling for pork eaters. Vegetable choice limited and just the cheaper vegetables used and all this for £13.95. The beef was overcooked and tough and at least our dogs ate it as there was plenty left from our table. Overall tired and dated surroundings, poor quality food and not value at all avoid as there are lots of good places for Sunday lunch in Durham
