Mad Hatter's Tea Room - County Durham

While searching for lunch, we stumbled upon this unique cafe. The food we tried was fantastic - we shared the Greek gyros and the balsamic beef, both were superb! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

I stopped by this restaurant for an early bite and what a wonderful place it was. The staff was lovely and I had a delicious breakfast of roasted bagel, spinach, bacon, and egg. It truly was a hidden gem of a spot.

The decorations are inspired by Alice in Wonderland, adding a whimsical touch to the atmosphere. The menu offers standard fare like beans on toast and full English breakfast, but the food is cooked to perfection and served in generous portions. The prices are reasonable, making diners feel like they had a satisfying meal at a great value. One suggestion would be to provide more detailed descriptions of menu items, particularly for the vegetarian breakfast. The vegetarian option was well-prepared and served in a good portion size, a pleasant change from the norm. The eggs had large yolks, the sausages were unique, and overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
