Location No Longer Exist

Nita HAD to have been kicked outta NOLA because her food was too good... I literally just came back from NOLA 4days ago and ate my fare share and THEN some but was still craving all that Cajun/ creole taste.NOWHERE out there is the gumbo THIS good. I don 't even have the words to describe... the roux was thick and flavorful(but not too thick), ample amount of meat, even had the crab meat on the side like the rice was which if I was eating this with my Ma , I can appreciate... I can take or leave scallops but the fact that you had one scallop in there cut in half, a big one, made me change my mind about them. Can we talk about these wings that put Popeyes to shame? I mean that chicken is clean the bones, eat the flap kinda good, and I 'm so grateful that the sauce was on the side because while the sauce was a nice addition, thick and smacking with flavor, the wings stood on their own. But THEN it comes with gumbo rice that I wished I had more of! For an Uber eats order, every single item,including everything on the side was hot, the taste was fresh. I was pleasantly surprised about this restaurant and I don 't care what no one says, Nita 's Gumbo is as New Orleans, Cajun/Creole as it gets. If I could give it 10 stars I would! The food was great order gumbo with a side of rice. Only bad thing was they ran out of crab, cakes, and soda. Probably the best gumbo I had in cook county.

Good experience for me..... Had gumbo.... Loaded mashed potato..... Shrimp and grits. It was soul food like I like it.... Flavorful.... Full-bodied..... Real ingredients..... None of that light fluffy stuff... Dining room clean and quaint.... All that was missing was alcoholic beverage..... They gave up license during pandemic..... Love this place. There's barely anywhere to get any good gumbo especially in the area but this place is awesome. I don't eat seafood so the chicken Gumbo and G7 is right up my alley. I just find it odd that they are closed on a weekday.
