Monicas Plaice - Cotswold

We were just passing through Lechlade and looking for a takeaway lunch and saw Monica’s Plaice on the High Street. We ordered the fish and chips and were delighted to see they were freshly cooked to order. The quality was excellent, the price was on par for The Cotswolds and the service was efficient. They also have a restaurant if you want to sit in it closes at 1.30pm at lunchtime and the takeaway closes at 2pm. It is well worth the visit!

Bought a chicken kebab. Chicken had pieces of chicken skin mixed in. Horrible, made me gag, absolutely vile. Won't be going back there. £8.00 wasted. Had a bowl of cereal for dinner.

After a wet and rainy drive, we arrived in Lechlade feeling a bit hungry. My wife spotted that Monica's was open and suggested we have fish and chips. We seated ourselves inside and placed our order, which arrived promptly. The portions were generous, and the kids' fish and chips were just right for our 6-year-old, while the sausage and chips were perfect for our 2-year-old. I opted for haddock and chips with curry sauce, while my wife had cod and chips with mushy peas. Everything was delicious and flavorful. We will definitely return next time we are in the area - a lovely little fish bar with very friendly staff.

I was not disappointed with this restaurant. It offers great value for the money with large portions and excellent quality. While the decor may be outdated, the delicious food more than compensates for it. I will certainly be returning soon.

Amazing fish and chips. Huge portion. Best ever. Very well priced. Enjoyed so much had twice in one week.
