Bidrage med feedbackTasty and a hip chicken sandwich joint if you want to mix it up a bit and not always rely on Dave's Hot Chicken or other fast food chicken options. Baba's offers many levels of heat and it's a solid meal no matter how you cut it. Only thing that was weird is the drinks are extra when you order a combo. I think they should re-think that as spicy chicken deserves a drink that's included in a higher cost meal.
I tried Baba's for the first time on Christmas Eve! I got the sandwich, tenders, fries, and mac n cheese. I chose mild for the spice level despite other reviews saying they thought it wasn't very spicy. Mild was perfect for me, it had just the right amount of heat without being uncomfortable to eat. Everything was delicious, especially the fries! They were 10/10, still dreaming about them. The mac n cheese was very creamy, which is how I like it. The only reason for four stars is the sauces. I got the Baba's sauce and ranch, which were just okay. I've had much better sauces from other chicken places (shoutout to Cluck Kitchen! . Besides that the food was great! Parking at the Lab can be a challenge, so something to keep in mind. Spaces are limited and on the smaller side, which a section reserved for valet only.
This place is great! If you go during a busy time, good luck finding parking. The loaded fries are a foodie delight and packed with flavor. They come as mild or spicy as you prefer. The sandwich is basically two big chicken tenders on bread with slaw/sauce and such but to be honest, the best thing here is the loaded fries. The portion is basically enough for two to share or if your hungry, you do you! The chicken is seasoned well and has a lot of flavor so whatever you go with you will like. I would just pass on the sandwiches and go with the loaded fries next time though. They put a good enough chicken on the fries so it definitely counts for a meal: . Inside doesn't have a ton of tables but there is plenty of seating around the mall area. I usually just get To go.
Would not recommend. Ordered 2 chicken sandwiches, fries and a grilled cheese sandwich. 1) the chicken is incredibly greasy oily, gave both my husband and I an extreme stomach ache right after eating. 2) they gave me Mac and cheese instead of grilled cheese 3) my fries were missing. When I called to tell them my order was wrong no one answered. This place is overpriced and underwhelming.
The place itself isn't it, it was oddly quiet when we walked in and realized that there was not music playing except a barely audible base coming from the kitchen. It was an awkward vibe, and seeing into the kitchen only made me feel like there wasn't any real cooking going on. The food: The sandwich and fried were pretty good! The strips were well seasoned and super juicy, and had a good texture that felt fresh. I Not really a fan of the buns they use, too hard. I was disappointed that the chicken sandwiches didn't have actual hot sauce on them and there wasn't any hot sauce available to get on the side, they did have ranch though. Seriously enjoyed their fries, although I'm 99% sure they're deep-fried frozen fries lol the mushy potato inside the extra crispy exterior has me pretty convinced (not gonna lie tho, I did love them). Overall: food 75/100, ambiance 40/100
