Bidrage med feedbackThe food at the Windy Ridge is amazing, plenty of it and reasonably priced and the desserts are to die for. Had several meals there and have never been dissapointed.
So where do I start ? Ah Yes!! the date 29/06/24 approx 11am Decided to pop in for breakfast as it was en route to somewhere else, Only the biker breakfast available but that was OK, shown to table went to bar ordered then returned to table as not much but empty food trays at counter. waited 10 mins and went up still no fried bread, three pieces of bacon very few mushrooms one egg. So stood at counter waiting for more to show up as there was now a queue building up, all waiting, member of staff walks by and very curtly asks why we are waiting, said Bacon to which she replied very abruptly there 's bacon there and walked off. several minutes later more sausages appear (already plenty there) ! Bacon fried bread (eventually). So we took our very very small plates (more tea plates than dinner plates) and selected our food during which time my partner discovered as she took hold of the serving spoon that the handle had been left under the heat lamp (not good). Went to table and began eating Bacon Barely warm, fried bread cold, sausages over cooked, added to this it was all swimming in fat. Needless to say for a tenner not impressed and add to that an abysmal cup of coffee.
Went to Windy Ridge for Sunday roast yesterday for the first time. Feelings a bit mixed unfortunately.we arrived, paid for our meal and drinks after we were shown to our table. We waited for 25mins before anyone bothered to ask us if we had gone up for our meal. Eventually we were asked, when we said we were still waiting the young lady went away, then came back and said we could go to the carvery. The gentleman who was stood by the very friendly chef, apologised for us having to wait, had we paid and who served us, we told him and he promptly had a go at the staff member responsible. By this time all we wanted to do was eat and leave. The food was fabulous and so tasty, the meat just melted. We were going to have pudding, but decided not to, but the desserts looked delicious. Shame really we didn’t get a wholly positive experience. Will we go again, probably at some point. We were doing a reccy to see whether or not it would be suitable to bring our friends to for Sunday lunch. We go to different pubs for a change, something we love to do.
