Valley Bar Cafe

Made an extra effort to come here before 12 so we could have breakfast but when we went to order we were told they were not doing food. I informed the staff that they have a sign at the door saying they serve breakfast until 12 but was informed by an incredibly rude member of staff that that wasn't the case today. Service was absolutely appalling, no apology given. I would avoid as like me you could end up being left being very disappointed after being treated like that.

We were visiting the Valley caravan park at the beginning of July 2018 for a family wedding and stayed in one of their excellent apartments above the clubhouse. These are spacious clean and well equipped with a delightfully large balcony looking over the valley. We ate in the bar on two occasions and were very impressed. The staff members were all friendly, competent and efficient and whilst the menu is limited it would seem appropriate for the venue. We chose Fish and Chips which were so good that we went back and had the same again a few nights later. The fish was local, the chips large and perfectly cooked and the batter was crisp and delightful. I think this rates as one of the top fish and chips we have enjoyed anywhere in the world and that’s saying something as we travel a lot. The bar is well stocked with beer and a selection of average but acceptable wines. The bar staff were welcoming and knew how to pour a pint of Guinness – quite and art and often failed. The bar area is large with two separate areas plus a large deck outside with table benches which made for a comfortable option to enjoy an evening drink. Highly recommended.

Never disappoints!. Valley restaurant is by far one of the best places (probably the best) to eat in Polzeath. Amongst an array of overpriced restaurants and cafes serving distinctly average food, Valley Cafe is by far the best place to eat in the village. With a small straightforward menu, serving well-presented bar food at normal prices, super friendly service in a relaxed environment, just a few steps from the beach. We tried the halloumi burger and the Salt Peper squid. Delicious!.

We stayed in May and the food and choice was fabulous, I would go as far as saying that it was the best food around, returned this week and we knew it would be our staple with our baby; oh no! It was like a youth club, with random people walking in and out of the kitchen, rolling up cigarettes, tying their hair up. There was a blackboard of food which was mainly burgers or chicken nuggets, and it was just cheap fast food at restaurant prices, we are sooooo gutted. Maybe it's the end of the season and this is why?!? Please please go back to how it was.

Visited a couple of times whilst staying at the Valley campsite. The restaurant is clean, food is great, atmosphere very relaxed. Would definitely go again.
