Bidrage med feedbackWe decided to try the swingletree Inn for are Sunday roast and unfortunately we're very disappointed alough we did not complain about the food but thought after that we should of , the whole lot tasted like it had been in the microwave , along with this the staff were moaning about each other and one of them were very unprofessional bringing us the food almost making us feel a nuisance. I would not recommend this pub for food but looks good for a drink if you are in the area.
We went to a restaurant on Friday night with a group of six. Five of us ordered steak and ale pie, while one ordered chicken pie. However, when the orders came out, we received four steak and ale pies and one chicken pie. We informed the waitress that there was a pie missing, and she went to check. She returned and explained that they had run out of steak and ale pie. Unfortunately, the person who originally ordered it declined to have anything else. If we had been informed earlier, someone else could have swapped their meal.
Staff behind bar were friendly, serving staff were inexperienced. Served roast without asking if we wanted any sauces. Had to go and ask, by time sauces brought dinner was finished (or would have been cold). Roast comes in three sizes and meat portions were good, but it was poor quality, tasted bland, really disappointing. Wouldn't eat here again based on quality of the roast.
The Swingletree is my local, but over the last year or so since the redecoration, it has changed, sadly for me, it has gone down hill. The food is now too expensive, along with the drinks. The staff, don't seem to know much about the beverages they sell, I asked for two glasses of Pinot Noir, the young bar staff, did not know what that was! So I ended up with house white. I now go to the Bull's Head, in Callington, it maybe a mile away from my house, but it is excellent value for money, with great food just the way the Swingle Tree use to be. Come on Swingle Tree sort your self out.
Ordered two steaks, one medium rare, other one medium. Both were well done and dry. Salad ordered with one, consisted mainly of lettuce about 4 slices of cucumber and a sliced tomato. Even the jacket potato was dry, so not impressed. Bar staff were nice and friendly though but they need to get a new chef in my opinion. Have had a bad Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day, but had two nice meals when visiting with friends on other occasions but don’t think I will risk it again after this evening. Maybe just a bad night
