Bidrage med feedbackIt wasn’t cordon bleu cuisine but it was just really nice simple food from a straightforward menu. Lasagne was warming and tasty and my other half’s minted lamb steaks were delicious apparently. Puds are traditional (apple pie and jam sponge pudding) but really well done....The welcome and the people were warm and friendly and it was well worth a call in if you’re on the road between Bodmin and Padstow.
Phoned round loads of places on this night trying to get in somewhere and this was the only place that had a table. We didn't have high expections based on the pics posted on here but we just wanted something to eat. Well we had...a really warm welcome when we arrived by the landlady and was made to feel welcome. The menu is limited and I'm not really up for gammon or the mixed grill carry on. I opted for the fish pie and to be truthful it was spot on, really tasty, plenty of sea food and under My wife and lasagne and again she enjoyed it and under My daughter had the rack of ribs and could finish them, they were the length of the plate. The only thing that could improve on these dish is how it's presented. It would be far better in one of those small oval dishes rather than lose on the plate. starter, mains and round of drink
We stumbled upon the the pub when we were trying to find somewhere to eat, without success. As tourists we hadn't got much of an idea where we were. When we entered, I will be honest, the place seemed very dated, and not that inviting....However, first impressions don't always tell the whole story. A very very simple menu offering, was actualy really good. I had a huge gammon and chips meal which was really tasty and great value. My wife also enjoyed her ham, eggs and chips. It was good. It clearly needs a bit of TLC, but the lady behind the bar was great and ever so friedly. We would definitely visit again. Cornwall is lagely over-priced, so it was good to go somewhere that kept it fair and simple.
Called in for a drink and dessert hadn't been for several years place seemed run down was musty smell lots stains on seating and quite a few cobwebs to be seen.
Stopped off here for a Sunday roast as it was my birthday! Staff are friendly but it was really cold in there we had to keep our coats on the whole time! We had roast chicken it was OK nothing special but eatable! I don't...think I would go again
