Ruby Chinese Restaurant - Cornwall

We decided we wanted Chinese food tonight. We usually get Jack Lees, but tonight we tried Ruby's after we saw a good review here. the order that the woman on the phone was extremely friendly and polite and offered a time frame when... the food would be ready to pick up and even said we would get a call if ready. we have in fact told phone call and we got the food home and when we started unpacking everything I noticed that the portions were very small and I thought they might mix the order up. I called to confirm and I was told that the parts were correct. we ordered the dinner for 6 and the container of chicken balls had 8 in it. the same woman on the phone again super politely advised me that the parts we got were correct and everything is as it should be. so now, she started to say something, but I didn't want to hear it, so I hanged up. Dinner for 6 and an additional dish came just under $100 and the food was terrible. the chicken balls tasted like nuggets of mcdonalds, the chicken in the chow my was dry the dish is basically water lol the general tao was simply disgusted the sauce was the consistency of maple syrup and very sticky and the chicken it was itself when they took the chicken from the chow and baked and fritted it and then a few more times. the clay soup obtained looked like plate water and smells like dirt. most of the food was very bland tasting. not complaining. we just share our experience. I don't want them to fix something because, as she said, our order is as it should be. I don't want free food in just this place to let everyone know what we've been through and if I can save someone from wasting $100, why not.

Excellent, freshly cooked food. The best Chinese food in Cornwall by far. Absolutely. I have nothing I didn't like after half a dozen visits

Located in a cozy setting, this quaint eatery offers made-to-order dishes that may require some waiting, but the delicious food is definitely worth it. The rustic and charming ambiance of the restaurant adds to the overall dining experience.

I ordered Chow Mein at this restaurant and found raw chicken in it. I will not be ordering from here again.

I was unable to make a substitution, which I understand, but then my order was incorrect. The portion sizes were smaller than other restaurants, but not terribly unreasonable. The egg roll was not good, the wonton soup had mainly broth with only 2 small wontons. The chicken soo guy had no sauce and was covered in white sugar, which tasted awful. The chicken fried rice was decent. Overall, I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.
