All different and very nice. It was kind of a mystery but that was part of the experience that made the place fun. Desserts aren't their speciality, stick with seafood courses.
One of my favourite seafood restaurants in Northern Italy. Best way to enjoy the visit is to ask the chef to prepare a mix of cooked and raw seafood appetisers, and to keep them coming until you have had enough. Enjoy. We did.
Tried for lunch on 19.06.2013 while traveling for business with an important associate. I wanted a nice fish restaurant: I have never been to this place before which was suggested by a local colleague. I shall admit that first impression was not the best. It was a hot day and the restaurant almost empty. The place is not outstanding but looking clean with fresh flowers, well groomed tables. The smile of the waiter was a nice welcome. Few minutes later, the owner (and chef) of the restaurant introduced himself. We mentioned that we do not have a huge experience with the local fish but we wanted something fresh, simple, and suitable for a hot day. He returned to our table a few minute later with a huge tray with a number of fish. He explained where/when they were caught and what to expect. It was a pleasure to see such variety and to listen to so much information. I had to write down the fish names as some of them were totally unknown to me. I am normally quite skeptical to order food without looking at the menu and prices. We asked price information about the fish we were about to order and such info was given to us with acceptable accuracy. We ordered very unusual fish. 3 starters: cagnoletto (a small vegetarian shark) with capers sauce, Capesante and canestrelli scallops. These ones were served steamed with a dash of olive oil. Very tasty. 1 main dish with side order: Pezzognia fish, a deep sea bream, grilled to perfection with a few herbs. This was the highlight of our lunch and most likely the best fish I ever had. The bill was at 45 euro per person inclusive of service, sparkling water and a bottle of white wine, fruits and coffee. Not the cheapest but considering what we ate, surely acceptable. If you are willing to try unusual fish, this is a place you will certainly enjoy. Just make sure you ask price information before ordering and you will be fine.
