Bidrage med feedbackAll Simply perfect! The food quality,service,place.. We were take aback by all and already looking forward to coming back there once again! I truly recommend it!
First impression is that the restaurant is characteristic, but then we realized that the personnel is not friendly at all, also there was a fight in the kitchen that all customers could hear well. The plate we found on the dresses table was full of small pieces of glass, probably it was there for a long time. The selection of dishes was quite limited, and the food plates looked not fresh. The bread was also quite hard and not fresh. The prices compared to other local restaurant was also not competitive, especially considering the poor food quality and service. Overall our experience was negative and we don't recommend this restaurant.
I happened upon this little hotel and restaurant completely by chance in the middle of June this year since then I have gone out of my way to stop there whenever I am out climbing in that part of the Apennine mountains. The story is that I had planned a multi day trek over the trail that follows the crest of the Apenines between the provinces of Massa Carrara and Parma (great hike for those that like solitude! and silly me, I thought that a refugio would be a place one could overnight in June… First night, no problem, CAI Rifugio Mariotti on the edge of Lago Santo, fine, all that a mountain rifugio should be. Second night I had planned on staying at the Rifugio Lagoni. When I arrived quite tired and with a knee that was playing tricks the refugio was open, but not for overnighting! I was told that there were hotels 8 km away in two different directions. Not the hospitality one is hoping for at the end of a days hike. Luckily for me, I was picked up while trudging along on the dirt road by a carful of botanists who very kindly dropped me at the Hotel (and restaurant Ghirardini in Bosco (di Corniglio . At this point, I had given up on continuing my trekking, as I had been taken back to near my departure point two days earlier. After checking in and taking a much needed bath, I wandered down for a drink and dinner. The meal was real home cooking, a type of ravioli stuffed with wild greens and a grilled pork steak, washed down with a respectable house red. After dinner, I sat with one of the owner 's sons who suddenly offered to drive me back to Rifugio Lagoni the next morning to continue my trek. That was an offer I couldn 't refuse, and seemed quite above and beyond the usual service for a hotel! As far at the hotel itself goes, it is a beautiful stone structure that seems to be the meeting point for the locals, including a bar which sells newspapers and magazines. It is also an information point for the Tosco Emiliano National Park. I am not certain how far one can get with English, but my Italian is dreadful and I had no problems being understood! The little room I stayed in was very clean and furnished with real furniture (no chipboard or laminate and a comfy wool mattress bed. Plenty of hot water in the shower also very clean. Total silence at night. And the price was very reasonable. In short, finding lodging for mountain walks in this area outside of the months of July and August can be quite vexing, as any tourist infrastructure is nearly non existent, but with the unscheduled experience I have had with the kind family at the Hotel Ghirardini, I can warmly recommend staying here as a base from which to explore a magical area of uncrowded trails and tiny glacial lakes perched high up in the mountains. Lovely experience.
We were in the past, the service was very mountainous and the price was not economical but we ate very well, now it seems changed management and known that the local was pleasantly renewed compared to the previous management, the menu of the day on paper, the wine card very wide but that reports August 23, I do not know if to expand offer or increase the prices, but it leaves a more perplexed. The service for their own admission is very much in affanno you must not have premura, the unfortunate sliced will not come for break slicers , arrive the 3 first coupons, all on the 13 15 euros , the seconds are almost all exhausted, at 13.20 , but what sense then has a menu drl day with 5 seconds, would have been tip of veal, pharaoh or anatra, the remaining sweets only ended from the day. Very kind staff but it is evident that for the prices exposed it should turn everything like a Swiss watch, I do not know if they are in rodaggio as management or in affanno for August, to try again in another period.
Caronte envelops the city with your fiery breath. Running on a hill looking for a little cool on a hot Sunday is an obligation. You decide all morning, suddenly, fortunately on at Bosco di Corniglio a table from 2 there. The place is also attractive from outside, the tables are practically all in the shade, pulls a light breeze and the first goal not to suffer the heat is centered. The staff is immediately thoughtful, kind and also friendly, you can exchange quietly some lines that will give you rope. A lady takes the water immediately, given the temperatures but here is definitely good). The menu is of tradition, a page, 4 or 5 preparations for each step of the meal. It is a choice that I always share, it facilitates much both the kitchen, but also the customer who is not distorted by too many things and in the end would always want what is not there. We greet the 'antipasto, but I see the long table of commensali who have booked and agreed in advance the menu filling with beautiful meats and a delicious, at least in appearance, fried cake. Don't ask, it's not on paper, it's agreed before, so they tell us. We order the wine, a black rooster chianti, which I haven't been drinking for a long time, but the friendly waiter hijacks me u a merlot of a good winery in the province. It does so very friendly and moderately ruffian that I do not mind at all. It's a really active and willing guy, puts his customers at ease, has his to do with sunglasses that he wears then moves on his head. A little show, involuntary, that I did not escape and that I appreciated. Let's start with the first: potato tortelli with mushroom sauce. Those are the ones you expect on the hill, good potato flavor, seasoned with finferli in the area. generous flow, it does not weigh down absolutely and the taste is really great. To be just lazy they could even stay a minute longer in cooking, but it's just a nuance. I give an eye to the table, because in the meantime, always outside the menu, a couple of saucepans to the mushrooms. Also this has a really nice wax and also this must be agreed before. Then the seconds come. Boh, maybe I have a great fortune when I choose, maybe and the case, but the juniper will make it worth the trip. I haven't eaten a dish like that for years, as good as that of the mom who chose the picaia, also great that) or grandmother. Even this dish is robust, it is not heavy, I would almost eat another. The two seconds come with delicious potato dice 3 or 4)! I would say local potatoes, mountain with an intense flavor, those you haven't eaten for a long time. I close with a great tiramisu where the coffee feels and cream and soft and light. In short, a sober, genuine and homemade lunch, but made by professionals. A really friendly and cheerful service. The customers on this Sunday at lunch are many, there is to run, maintain friendliness and smile during the service is not easy. This is really good for me. The account in my opinion is correct. I know someone would like to spend a few euros less, because other locals have lower prices. I am of the idea that the prices proposed in this restaurant are right. not a euro more than due. Raw materials and employees cost, they must be paid. Making potato tortelli with mushroom sauce requires manual and work that is right to recognize. At first sight perhaps the wine card seems slightly expensive, but if we think that supplying a place so out of hand is not a walk and however the wine card is really well made, even those euros are justified and spent well. Very Good Ghirardini. I think I'll be back.
