Zapata's Cantina - Cornelius

Friendly atmosphere, pretty good Mexican. The small Mexican restaurant has been hidden on the back of a small strip-mall, but don't let it stop. Not as varied a menu as other Mexican restaurants in the area as in very small seafood on the menu, so if you are looking for Vera Cruz cusine, look elsewhere. Cusine is more characteristic for the area around Puebla or other part of the interior. Outside this restriction, the food they do is excellent and I highly recommend everyone. Overall a very good menu and I had no bad food there in a few years. Waiting staff was always excellent, portions are generous, Atmoshere is cozy and not extravagant, but still a beautiful experience. Overall, it is a good value. Zapata is coupon heavy and if you can find one of her coupons so much better, but if you can't find one, don't leave it back. Worth the trip.

Pretty Good.. Had the standard chicken fajita and it was fine. Nothing special but pretty tasty. Kinda surprised that it was empty at 7PM on a saturday night. Used a entertainment book coupon and saved about $8.00.

Zapatas LKN. IMO, their dishes are not only somewhat authentic, but interesting and very tasty. In the few years I have been going there, I have yet to hear a complaint.

I'm glad this restaurant is in my area, but tonight was my first visit without a voucher, and I have to say, the full price just doesn't seem justified. My chicken fajita quesadilla was incredibly bland, and there was barely any chicken in it. The tortillas seemed undercooked as well. My wife's meal had similar issues with poorly prepared tortillas. On a positive note, the service was friendly, and the host was very pleasant. Despite the busy atmosphere, I just found the food lacking. I might have higher expectations than most.

I absolutely love the pollo con crema and the spinach quesadilla! They often have great coupons available on lknfun.com. My husband always orders the dinner plate with the bacon-wrapped shrimp, and he never disappoints!
