Bidrage med feedbackPerhaps this would not be the experience many look for in Cordoba, but we saw the sign yesterday and made a reservation for one pm today. The owning couple is from Uruguay, and they have aged beef from their old country, the Galicia region of Spain, and other locales. We started out with a small salad of rucola, ricotta, and tomato . For the bread we had a spicy sauce for dipping, and an olive oil/garlic sauce. I had a glass of the house red. The list of steak cuts M had was impressive. May and I both had skirt or hanger steaks usually not served in North America. The steaks were served medium and were very tasty. We have been traveling for two weeks now and this was among the two or three best meals hands down. I finished up with an espresso. For two, the total was only about E 50. A bargain compared to North America. Bon appetit!
The first thing that caught our eye was the fabulous display of aged meat in the window of this restaurant. Might not be for everybody, but for us it was a steak lover’s dream. We were not disappointed. Having taken advice from the waitress, we chose one Top Loin from their list of steaks from Galicia and one from Uruguay. They were both delicious. The staff were great; pleasant and helpful and we met the chef, who is from Uruguay. We liked the restaurant so much that we went back the following evening and this time we tried different items on the menu. Be aware that the portions are generous. The decor is in tribute to the great bullfighter, El Cordobes and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. We felt that the restaurant was also good value for money and we would certainly go back on a future visit to Cordoba.
Everything we ate here was AMAZING! Even the little oil salsa they serve wi the bread was delicious. The ham croquettas were the best we had in Spain. The steak was delicious. We were so full and we still took a desert because we knew it was going to be just as tasty as the rest. The people that work there were friendly and welcoming.
